My name is Jenna Najera, and I am the founder of Outer Song. I am currently finishing up my senior year as a Music Business major at Belmont University.
I have taken on many endeavors during my time at Belmont including landing on the council of the Showcase Series on campus, a student-led organization that puts on live events throughout the year, showcasing the musical talent throughout the Belmont. This organization is where I am also Head Producer for the Writers Showcase that shines a light on the songwriters attending Belmont.
I am also involved in Bear House Management, another on-campus organization that provides experience in writer management between student songwriters, artists, and student managers. I currently manage two acts within the program as well as assist in management of a graduating member. I also am the booking coordinator for the organization, helping to book live opportunities throughout Nashville for songwriters within Bear House as well as networking opportunities for managers within the organization.
I am currently a member of Belmont Service Corps, another on-campus organization that provides hands-on opportunities for entertainment industry events. In this organization, I have been given so many amazing opportunities to get connected within the industry including opportunities to work at events such as Country Radio Seminar, ACM Honors, Nashville Film Festival, CMT Awards, DOVE Awards, and the Grammy Awards.
I also have been fortunate enough to hold multiple intern positions at publishing companies throughout Nashville working in the publishing space as well as artist development space. Through these internships, I have gained knowledge and experience in social media marketing, writer management, A&R, live events, merchandising, and streaming.
I have been involved in several mentorships during my time at Belmont, curated and organic. With the network and resources Belmont has offered me through these mentorships, I have learned the importance of building that circle of individuals who will help you grow and who will grow with you. This has pushed me to create opportunities like the ones I have had these past four years for others who are wanting to walk a similar path.
I am so excited to begin this adventure of learning and progressing with the upcoming group of music professionals and creatives. My vision of Outer Song could not be existent without the help of those that have lead the way for me. It also could not be existent without knowing the need of a platform like it. I cannot wait to be that platform for all who are searching for it.
