What Outer Song is about

Outer Song is the new up and coming platform for unsigned talent in the music industry that want to get started in creating relationships and opportunities within the industry. The music industry can be intimidating when it comes to getting your foot in the door as a creative. Whether you are in an entertainment city like Nashville, New York, or LA or not, with social media, this can be daunting seeing what you may be up against. Social media has also created the opportunity to very quickly become successful while also very quickly fading back into the abyss of talent that can be found throughout the internet. 

For industry professionals, this is a different kind of daunting task when it comes to being introduced to new talent. While one may stumble across the next best thing every once of a while, many times, when it comes to allotting time to scouting new talent, social media can become too saturated to do this effectively. 

For both parties, this process of opportunity can be seen as luck for many. Many describe luck as the meeting of two puzzle pieces: timing and preparation. Luck can be great until you have to figure out how to sustain it into the long-term. In the music industry, luck sometimes isn’t so lucky. Once luck strikes, you have to figure out how exactly to translate that luck into continued growth and loyalty. 

The answer to creating this long-term success: hard work. While that still is not the end-all-cure-all, it certainly rings true in any endeavor. While the luck of that hard work being recognized has to still be present, hard work can still create a sense of worth and confidence in any creative in this industry. Being confident in your ability to push for what you want will always get you somewhere even if it is not the destination you may have had in mind.

How will Outer Song help you, the creative, to get to a place where all of these qualities of success align? We will do our best in providing the knowledge, the network, and the opportunity for you to take the next step in your career. We will help guide you in how to make connections in the music industry. While we cannot provide the timing or the hard work (the hard work is up to you!), we certainly can provide the tools to help fill the luck equation as well as extending that equation into the long-term. 

We will provide potential mentorship through industry professionals that are in our network. We will pair you using the information you provide explaining your profile as a creative. This profile will help us match you accurately and efficiently with the industry professionals that will help you in the areas you request. This information will also provide a geographic-friendly match in regards to which entertainment hub you want to get involved. This is designed to narrow down matches to create the perfect one!

For those who are looking to work as an industry professional, Outer Song is here to create connections that can be intimidating to navigate on your own. We will also provide tips on how to navigate those first steps into the industry while seeking internships, jobs, and other opportunities within the music business. This will be done through weekly blogs, newsletters, and mentorship opportunities. The goal is provide as much knowledge that can be helpful toward breaking down how to start your career in music business, implementing a plan, and helping you to execute that plan. 

There is a form you, the aspiring professional, will fill out on our site, and just like the creatives, we will take the information you give us describing your personality and desired career paths in order to match you with any connections or opportunities within our network.
